Novae Res Urbis (NRU) recently featured the Designing Toronto (#dezTO) project in it’s October 25th Toronto edition. As many of you know, #dezTO has been in the works for close to a year now and we’re really keen to launch it in 2014.
The article really helped to put things into perspective – that “oh crap – this is real now!” moment we all face once projects start to take shape! The piece also generated some amazing attention – we got emails from exasperated Planners almost ranting about how Toronto needs to reform it’s planning system and better deal with communities and the public. It’s definitely a topic that hits home for many. We’re proud of where this project has been and where it is headed – it’s definitely one more contribution towards continuing the discussion around planning engagement and civic participation.
We’ve been fortunate enough to be working on this with Jennifer Chan and Colin Lacey over at Exhibit Change – a brilliant firm with awesome people. Looking forward to celebrating once the pilot phase of this course is up and running!
