It’s January and we’re busy planning for the New Year!
A few amazing projects are in the queue along with a couple of very neat developments that we’re super excited to announce. The first is the creation of the ThinkFresh Lab. Over the past few months, we’ve noticed that we tend to have two streams of work – traditional consultancy projects and innovation-driven projects where we test out new concepts and ideas. To better ensure that each stream gets the attention that it deserves, we’ve decided to split our work into the Consultancy and Lab.
Over time, we hope that the Lab will evolve into a space for “do-tanking” – a place where innovative ideas can be tested, played with and refined. Our inputs for the Lab will be internal – such as a new idea we’ve come up with – or external – such as ideas from our clients or inspirations we’ve come across. Regardless of the source, we plan to have lots of fun creating and scheming urban innovations forward. Look out for the launch of the ThinkFresh Lab in the next few months!
We’re also developing out the idea of a “Toronto-Buffalo Innovation Corridor” to tap into the amazing social innovation we are seeing emerge all around the western Lake Ontario region. From digital innovation in Waterloo to an emerging arts and culture hub in Hamilton and waterfront revitalization in Buffalo, there is definitely momentum building around creating new ideas and developing new opportunities. Much of this work has an element of embedded social innovation that we think can be further developed to bring deeper value and benefits to the communities that are being served. Our team has already visited Buffalo & St. Catharines and we’ll be embarking on further road trips to Kitchener-Waterloo, Guelph, Hamilton, Mississauga & Brampton in the coming months. Stay tuned!
From all of us at ThinkFresh – have an amazing and enlightening 2015!!
